These are a few of my favorite things- Dec. 2022

December seems like the perfect time to think about favorite things. Last night was my cooking club’s annual Favorite Things Christmas party. We each bring a favorite thing from the year and white elephant style exchange. Really we should change it to the November party the best ideas come from this party. I gave a watercolor set, with an art board, masking tape and watercolor paper. I came home with ear rings, and an ionic face steamer.

Holiday Parties

I love a holiday party! Today I read Pete the Cat Saves Christmas to my son’s preschool class. We hopped snowballs off of the parachute and ice skated on plates. I don’t know if this is my last 3 year old Christmas party, but it is my last one with this 3 year old and I enjoyed every minute with him. He was so excited to have mom reading his favorite book to his class.

Christmas Ornaments

Every year we pick out an ornament that matches what the boys are interested in that year. 2022 is defined by Mario Bros. and Bluey. Mario was easy to find. Bluey was not. We made our own. That’s right! We bought Bluey figurines, drilled in the top, and put eye screws in the top. (I’m sure there is another word, but I don’t know it.) You would never know they are home made.

Air Fryer

We had a very small air fryer for years. I didn’t want to invest if we wouldn’t use it often. Turns out, two boys and a mom who loves chicken nuggets meant we were using it daily. So we upgraded. I LOVE IT! It has 2 baskets. Now I have a dedicated gluten free side which is much better than changing out inserts like before. It makes my chicken nuggets and fries taste like a restaurant. I LOVE feeling like I get to eat fried chicken fingers because that doesn’t happen often being gluten free.

What are you loving at the end of 2022? Leave me a comment.
